Overview: Hans Zimmer and I had spoken at length about translating the "presence of Hannibal Lecter" into audio. I spent the late summer gathering material for the task and invested a huge amount of time in sample sessions, covering everything from trombones to i-ching balls, from cutlery to pigs. It was the opportunity I'd been looking for to further explore the connection between conventional score and sound design.

Highlights: The opening titles were thrown my way very late in the day with interesting results. Other memorable moments included "The Capponi Library" , "Firenze Di Notti", "Clarice's Dream" as she's driven to safety by the gallant Dr Lecter and of course the dinner party. Finally Patrick Cassidy's "La Vita Nuova" is simply beautiful.
