Overview: New Year '03 and snow had settled in London as I got the back to the LA sun. I'd arrived late in the proceedings and only for one cue, at 23 minutes long it was the entire "Reel 6". I soon found myself working backwards through the movie and becoming embroiled in its darkness throughout.
Highlights: The opening titles "Yekeleni Pt. 1", fuse across the cultures and the centuries in a similar way to Black Hawk Down. "Yekeleni Pt. 2" plys its dark trade throughout the massacre and somehow "Cry In The Silence" condenses so much action into a short but effective barrage. This score was a real melting pot, reflected in our band who went its separate ways to Africa, Australia, Austria, Canada, Switzerland and the UK, the Brazilian and a few Germans stayed at home in LA. This is a great score that got overlooked, it deserves a listen.
